A Swirl of Colors!

Well, hello!

Now that we have settled into the new website and have taken a few orders, we are getting our feet back underneath us. Still, there is some confusion and plenty of questions about the color names and which are old or new. So this blog post aims to clear up any confusion going forward.

Of course, always remember that all of our colors are custom mixed each time we make a batch, so there will always be a slight variation in the shade, but generally any color you choose should be fairly close to the ones now pictured on the website.

Unfortunately, this in an effort to make sure we convey the information correctly, this is going to be a pretty dry post. No flowery vocabulary, but just maybe a few pretty and colorful pictures.

So let’s get started!

You may have noticed that all of our colors now carry a gemstone name, which makes them more easy to identify with corresponding birthstones. You will always find the actual color in front of the stone name, however, making it a bit easier for our color blind patrons to identify. You can also find a handy chart of the color names and their corresponding stones on our website here Colors — Argent Rose Studios

Ruby Red, the classic Rose Color

As the first and still most popular of all of our colors, the classic red rose, has been renamed to Red Ruby. It is a deep candy red, and has remained the same through the new changes and additions. If you already have one of our red roses, this is the same color in your bouquet.

Pink Tourmaline, Pink Topaz, Pink Diamond

Our “pink” toned roses have shifted a bit. The Pink Tourmaline rose still remains our darkest pink, and has even darkened a little bit in color. This is to make it more distinct from our Pink Topaz. Our Pink Topaz is the medium pink, it is new, and it is a little bit darker than our old Pink Frost. However, we have added a third color, the lightest pink, called Pink Diamond. This newest pink is by far the lightest we have created.

Blue Sapphire, Blue Topaz, Blue Diamond

A similar update happened to the” blues”. Our Blue Sapphire remains the darkest, a little darker even, and the new Blue Topaz is introduced as a middle shade. Our old Blue Frost is renamed Blue Diamond, and may be a tiny bit lighter than it was before.

Purple Amethyst, Purple Tanzanite, Purple Alexandrite

The “purple” roses also moved in a new direction. As always, our Purple Amethyst is the darkest, and has gone back to a deeper shade. Moving to the middle, our old Purple Frost has become Purple Tanzanite. If you have what used to be our light purple, this is the one in your bouquet. The new introduction is our lightest purple, called Purple Alexandrite.

Green Emerald, Green Peridot, Green Jade

Our “greens” have made a little more than a shift. We have struggled with our light greens for years, trying to find colors that customers prefer, and so there have a been a few variations of our light green as we hone in on the perfect blend. Now, our darkest green still remains Green Emerald. The medium green shade is called Green Peridot, and it is somewhat close to our old Green Frost, but a little less minty. And we have again added the lightest of the greens, a new color called Green Jade.

Orange Garnet, Orange Citrine, Orange Topaz

For you Fall pallet folks, our “oranges’ haven’t changed much! We renamed our dark orange, but the color remains the same. It is now known as Orange Garnet. Similarly, our old Orange Frost remains the same color and is renamed Orange Topaz. The new addition to the oranges is Orange Citrine, the medium shade in this grouping. It has a little more of a pumpkin color.

Teal Sapphire, Blue Turquoise, Blue Aquamarine

Last in our triple color pallets is our ‘teal’ roses. These are a little more blue-green in shade. Our old Turquoise, the darkest in the group, has had a name change, to Teal Sapphire. Our old Aquamarine has now moved up to the middle shade, and is now called Blue Turquoise. And the newcomer in this group is the lightest of the three, and replaces the old Blue Aquamarine.

Black Onyx, White Diamond Pearl, Yellow Diamond Pearl

Our white, yellow and black all remain the same colors, just with added stone names of Black Onyx, Yellow Diamond Pearl and White Diamond Pearl. While these last two names may sound contradictory, they are in fact our only two remaining pearl finishes. Yet there is a tiny bit of flake in them that makes them shine as well, hence the diamond moniker.

Yellow Gold, Argent Silver

Antique Bronze, Rose Gold

Rounding out the rest of the roses are the metal finishes. These colors also remain the same, but the names have changed—Yellow Gold, Argent Silver, Antique Bronze and Rose Gold. This is in anticipation of adding a wider variety of these colors as well (think pewter, white gold, etc).

We know these changes are confusing. We are still figuring them out ourselves! So feel free to email us with any questions or concerns., we are here to help. We can be reached here Contact Us — Argent Rose Studios
